영어 동화 The Fairies 2

1. 영어동화 2번째

어제에 이어 2번째 영어 동화입니다.

 

 

 

Among other things, this unfortunate child had to go twice a day to draw water more than a mile and a half from the house, and bring home a itcherful of it.

무엇보다도, 이 불행한 아이는 하루에 두 번 집에서 1.5마일 이상 떨어진 곳에 물을 길어다가 한 모금씩 집으로 가져와야 했습니다.

 

One day, as she was at this fountain, there came to her a poor woman, who begged of her to let her drink.

어느 날, 그녀가 이 분수대에 있을 때, 가난한 여자가 찾아왔는데, 그 여자는 그녀에게 술을 마시게 해달라고 간청했습니다.

 

“Oh, yes, with all my heart, Goody,” said this pretty little girl.

"오, 네, 진심으로, 구디," 이 작고 예쁜 소녀가 말했습니다.

 

Rinsing the pitcher at once, she took some of the clearest water from the fountain, and gave it to her, holding up the pitcher all the while, that she might drink the easier.

즉시 주전자를 헹구고, 그녀는 분수에서 가장 깨끗한 물을 조금 가져다가, 그녀가 더 쉽게 마실 수 있도록 주전자를 계속 들고 그녀에게 주었습니다.

 

The good woman having drunk, said to her:—
“You are so pretty, so good and courteous, that I cannot help giving you a gift.”

술을 마신 착한 여자가 그녀에게 말했습니다:—
"당신은 너무 예쁘고, 너무 착하고, 예의가 있어서 선물을 주지 않을 수 없습니다."

 

For this was a fairy, who had taken the form of a poor country-woman, to see how far the civility and good manners of this pretty girl would go. 
이것은 이 예쁜 소녀의 예의와 좋은 매너가 어디까지 갈지 보기 위해 가난한 시골 여성의 모습을 한 요정이었기 때문입니다. 

 

“I will give you for gift,” continued the Fairy, “that, at every word you speak, there shall come out of your mouth either a flower or a jewel.”

요정은 "당신에게 선물로 줄 것입니다,"라며, "당신이 말하는 모든 단어마다, 당신의 입에서 꽃이나 보석이 나올 것입니다,"라고 말했습니다
