And now the best food was cooked for poor Hansel, but Gretel got nothing but crab-shells. Every morning the woman crept to the little stable, and cried: „Hansel, stretch out your finger that I may feel if you will soon be fat."
가난한 한셀을 위해 최고의 음식이 요리되었고, 그레텔은 게 껍데기만 먹었습니다. 매일 아침 여자는 작은 마구간으로 기어 들어가서 "한셀, 곧 살이 찌는지 확인하기 위해 손가락을 뻗어 줘."라고 외쳤습니다.

Hansel, however, stretched out a little bone to her, and the old woman, who had dim eyes, could not see it, and thought it was Hansel‟s finger, and was astonished that there was no way of fattening him.
그러나 한셀은 그녀에게 작은 뼈를 뻗어 주었고, 눈이 어두운 늙은 여자는 그것을 볼 수 없었고 한셀의 손가락이라고 생각하고 그를 살찌울 방법이 없다는 것에 놀랐습니다.

When four weeks had gone by, and Hansel still remained thin, she was seized with impatience and would not wait any longer.

"Now, then, Gretel," she cried to the girl, "stir yourself, and bring some water. Let Hansel be fat or lean, tomorrow I will kill him, and cook him." 
"그럼, 그레텔," 그녀는 소녀에게 소리쳤다. "그녀는 몸을 젓고 물을 좀 가져와요. 헨젤이 뚱뚱하든 말든 내일 내가 그를 죽이고 그를 요리할 것입니다."
